How it Works

Instead of the typical acid etching that roughens the enamel to create a mechanical bond with resin tags, Ormco EtchFree Bonding creates an ionic bond with the calcium in the enamel itself.

This technology allows EtchFree Bonding to help maintain the enamel health and completely withstand moisture contamination, reducing debonds compared to other adhesive products.

Simplified Bonding Procedure

Ormco EtchFree Bonding removes the etching, rinsing, and drying steps from the typical bonding protocol. The Ormco EtchFree Primer can be applied without any agitation, waiting or other steps, resulting in reduced technique sensitivity and significant time savings.

Exceptional Enamel Protection

Traditional acid etching is designed to expose the enamel rods that support a mechanical bond with the resin adhesive. EtchFree Primer minimizes surface roughening damage to the enamel compared to traditional etchant or self-etch products, while promoting reliable bond strength.

Consistent Bond Strength - Wet or Dry

Unlike leading bonding products, Ormco EtchFree Bonding maintains high bond strength even in a completely wet environment.

• Aligner Attachments: 10 Seconds

Storage

Ormco EtchFree Bonding should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Proper storage ensures the product maintains its shelf-life and efficacy.

Important Precautions

While the EtchFree Bonding procedure is simplified compared to conventional products, it is essential to follow standard clinical precautions for optimal results:

• Ensure the enamel surface is pumiced and clean
• Ensure that proper isolation and evacuation are in place
• Ensure that your standard patient-safety steps are taken

FDA Approval Status

EtchFree Bonding can be used to bond metal or ceramic brackets and aligner attachments to teeth with healthy enamel to facilitate orthodontic treatment. The bond is not compatible with crowns or restorations and should only be used on teeth with healthy enamel.
