Technical Details

The Making of the Metal Dento-Infusor Tip

Dr. Fischer designed the earliest version of the Metal Dento-Infusor tip in the basement of his home in Utah. In one of his lab experiments, Dr. Fischer pulled an IV syringe from his supply cabinet, cut off the needle point, and used an orthodontic tie wire to pull a retraction cord through the needle. Using orthodontic pliers, he then bent the needle into the shape the MDI tip still comes in today.

The Metal Dento-Infusor tip is specially designed with a blunt, bent cannula and a padded brush end. The tip's first-of-its-kind design is ideal for delivering hemostatic right where it's needed in the capillary openings.

Comfort Hub Feature

The Comfort Hub feature provides larger, ergonomically designed wings for an improved user experience while attaching or removing the Metal Dento-Infusor tip. Clinicians can apply greater torque to ensure secure attachment or easy removal with less finger stress and discomfort.

Application

The Metal Dento-Infusor tip infuses hemostatic agents into capillaries, forming a cork-like "plug," then wipes coagulum away. Subgingival preparation results in a bleeding sulcus. The Metal Dento-Infusor tip rubs hemostatic agents firmly against bleeding tissues to immediately arrest bleeding and to provide profound hemostasis.

Tissue Management Technique Step by Step

Step 1

With the Dento-Infusor™ tip, scrub hemostatic firmly against cut bleeding tissues until bleeding stops.

Step 2

Give firm air/water spray to remove residual coagulum and to test for profound hemostasis. If bleeding continues, repeat.

Step 3

After complete hemostasis has been attained, excellent retraction is achieved using Ultrapak™ knitted cord placed with the Ultrapak™ packer
