Application: The "De Bakey" needle holder is suitable for suture material from 4-0 to 6-0, which also makes it suitable for microsurgical procedures.

With a length of 16 cm, it is in the medium range. The ring handle gives the surgeon good control over the instrument. Compared to other needle holders, the mail runs parallel and is fitted with carbide inserts (TC insert). This provides the necessary support for the needle in the mouth and protects the instrument from rapid wear. Between the rings of the handle there is an adjustable ratchet, which allows the needle to be held in the mouth without the need for additional force and can be easily released again.
