The "Mathieu" needle holder in 17 cm length with straight jaw and rotation lock is suitable for use with suture material from 2-0 to 4-0. The carbide insert (TC insert) with cross grooving is standard size and gives the instrument a longer service life than comparable needle holders without such inserts. They also provide the necessary grip on the needle to prevent it from twisting. This model is the larger version from the series with standard carbide inserts. A spring is installed between the branches of the handle, which means that the needle holder opens automatically if no force is applied to the handle.
