Absorbable PGA(Vicryl) Violet & Braided 18" C-6 Needle, braided and coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. Completely synthetic material The violet is a FDA-approved color additive called FD&C Violet No. 2 Excellent tensile strength throughout the critical wound healing period. Excellent knot security Excellent handling (doesn't curl or get tangled). Very predictable absorption profile Retains 82% of the original tensile strength at 14 days after placement and 56% at 21 days. It is completely dissolved after 90 – 100 days. Minimal inflammation in tissue.
