Blumenthal Bone Rongeur is a specialized surgical tool used for cutting and nipping away bone pieces and other hard tissues, in order to broaden pre-formed holes or sculpt delicate bones. The Blumenthal rongeur features a double-spring plier style handle with horizontal ridges. The double spring mechanism ensures smooth jaw opening and closing. Ergonomic plier style handle ensures maximum control.
This Blumenthal Bone Rongeur has curved jaws, angled at 30°. More beak angles e.g. 45° and 90° are also available on request. The jaw or cutting tips size is 3mm to 3.3mm. The overall instrument length is 14.5cm.
Bone Rongeurs are strongly construct instruments with a sharp-edged, scoop-shaped tips. They are used for gouging out bone. They can also be used to open a window in bone. This instrument should never be used to remove roots, as it will damage the instrument since roots are hard and bone is soft. Additionally, it will be removing bone and tissue that should be kept in place.
