Deldent MiniBlaster
DELDENT · source
The Deldent MiniBlaster is a chairside sandblaster designed for sandblasting procedures in dental practice. It features adaptors for standard 4-hole handpiece ports, and adaptors for Kavo®, Sirona® or W&H® High speed handpiece ports. The unit can be activated with a regular foot control. The Deldent Miniblaster strips away contaminants and a microscopic layer of metal, composite or porcelain depending on the material being blasted, creating a retentive surface with a myriad of microscopic undercuts. This increased surface roughness significantly enhances bond strength. The Deldent Miniblaster has been approved by the FDA for intra-oral use to enhance bonding and its additional clinical applications are only limited by the imagination of the operator.
Applications include:
- Sandblasting of bracket mesh to completely remove old existing composite and enable the same bracket with a superior sandblasted surface to be rebonded
- Sandblasting of the inner surface of molar bands, especially in critical situations such as with a rapid palatal expansion appliance, to significantly reduce bond failure
- Sandblasting of bonding areas of adapted wire for fabrication and bonding of simple retainers
- Bonding to artificial surfaces including crown and bridgework and restorations of various materials; amalgam, composite, porcelain and precious metals
- General chairside sandblasting for increases micro-retention
