Micropins

MEDIPAC S.A. · #PIN 003 · source

Micropins are made from titanium alloy and are intended for the secure fixation all types of absorbable and non-absorbable membranes in periodontal processes. Micropins are available in the length of 3 mm and are also supplied within a convenient sterilizable blister pack that optimizes its storage and clinical application. Each blister pack contains 10 Micropins.

The special design of them characterized by mini-threads on the main body guarantees greater fixation of the membrane which in turn helps avoiding micro-mobility of the graft. The ergonomic design of the accompanying applicator allows for easy pick-up of the pin as well as effective fixation of the membrane and it features a hexagonal engagement of 0.88 mm.

Advantages

  • Easy penetration into cortical bone
  • Convenient grip-ergonomics characterizing the accompanying tools for easy uptake of Micropins
  • Functional design
  • Safe and easy opening by single-hand control

Performance & Application

The medical devices Micropins for maxillofacial and dental surgical use, secure a membrane to the mandibular cortical bone, and/or to titanium meshes, and/or to small autologous / heterologous bone grafts. They should be used solely by certified surgeons and /or dental specialists as well as dental graduates who are certified to practice.

Given the small size of Micropins, a special tool is necessary for allowing an easy grip, during both the insertion and the extraction phase, thus eliminating technical errors during surgery, without compromising the health status of the patient.

Typically used in
