Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium 6.1

Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium 6.1 software version is now available with full compatibility with Windows 11 version 24H2. This allows current Planmeca PlanCAD Premium users to update their workstations ahead of the Windows 10 support ending on 14 October 2025.

If your customers are updating to version 6.1 from any version earlier than 6.0, a licence upgrade with a valid licence upgrade contract are required. For more information, please refer to the technical bulletin SW-283.

Improvements in Smile Creator module

The 6.1 software version includes several improvements in the Smile Creator module, including a new cloud-based "TruSmile Photo" integration to create a photorealistic preview simulation, automatic smile line detection, and matching of the smile photo to 3D data. Smile Creator now also supports "TruSmile Video" to generate a video simulation of the smile design based on recorded input video of the patient.

Other improvements

Planmeca PlanCAD Premium 6.1 introduces over 100 new features, improvements and fixes to existing functionalities, including:

• Improvements of Virtual Articulator, including new preview images and lower jaw movements.
• Improvements of Model Creator, including an optional setting for a Quick Model workflow directly in the Wizard.
• Starting from 6.1 software version, a cloud-based AI Crown Design feature can be used in the workflow instead of tooth library shapes with AI making a suggestion for an individual tooth model design.
