Mother of pearl is a light-cured resin that reflects light and passively adheres to the surface. Since it is dimethacrylate based, it protects the surface it is applied to from other chemicals and can be easily removed from undercuts and between teeth. Because of its green color, it can be easily distinguished from the gingiva and teeth.
