Product Information

PLUS Powder contains 3 main ingredients:

• CHX or CPC only in Japan & US
• Amorphous silica
• Erythritol

The CHX or CPC is added only as a preservative to store the powder and keep it free from contamination. The silica added is amorphous and safe as proven by various studies. Erythritol is the main ingredient which is not only anti-microbial but the no. 1 anti-cariogenic material available today.

Safety & Evidence

The study by Prof. Caren Barnes et al has shown that only powders based on sodium bicarbonate, glycine and erythritol are safe to be used on enamel.

Usage Recommendations

AIR-FLOWING® is recommended above the age of 2 years in children.

AIR-FLOWING® with PLUS powder can be used in children, adults, geriatrics, patients with orthodontics, periodontal, peri-implant disease patients, patients with caries and medically compromised patients. PLUS powder is safe to be used in children above the age of 2 years as long as all the recommendations of use are followed.

If used with 100% water as recommended, the AIRFLOW® PLUS powder residues never remain in the periodontal pocket. Even if potential residues of AIRFLOW® PLUS POWDER remain in periodontal pockets, the AIRFLOW® PLUS powder is biocompatible.

AIRFLOW® PLUS powder can be used in patients who are lactose intolerant or glucose intolerant.

Clinical Benefits

The use of abrasive polishing pastes with rubber cups and/or brushes leads to loss of dentin and erosion, as well as flattening of the enamel prisms over a period of time. Use of hand instruments results in irreversible loss of cementum and dentine, as well as soft tissue injury, recession, exposed root surfaces with hypersensitivity and enamel injury (scratches).

AIR-FLOWING® with PLUS Powder preserves the integrity of composite, ceramic and gold restorations when compared to rubber cups. After GBT treatment, the biofilm and calculus are completely removed, the tooth surfaces are perfectly clean, and the natural structure of the tooth substances is preserved. Polishing with rubber cups creates smear layers and has no additional value, and is therefore unnecessary!
