Product Overview

The Magdent-MED is a Miniaturized Electromagnetic Device, identical to a healing abutment, produces a pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF).

THE MED consists of a battery, an electronic device and a coil that fits most implant models in much the same way as current simple healing abutments.

The MED's technology actively stimulates, accelerates and improves osseogenesis (bone formation) by 60% and accelerates osseointegration (bone to implant connection) by 50%, thus shortening the healing period by 2/3 after implant placement, as well as enabling the loading of the implant (crown placement) after 1/3 of the usual time.

Magdent's MED is compatible with up to 85% of implant brands globally. Our R&D team continuously verifies and expands compatibility to ensure the MED fits seamlessly into your preferred implant systems.

Instructions for use

The following instructions outline the correct procedure for using Magdent's MED. Please ensure all steps are followed precisely to maintain safety and effectiveness.

STEP01

When the MED is placed in the Activator, a red light will illuminate, signaling it is ready to be activated.

STEP02

Press the red button: the button turns blue and blinks four times. The MED is now ready for use for 30 consecutive days.

STEP03

The MED can be inserted into the implant using our 1.25 mm hex driver.

Inside the MED: How It's Built and How It Works

The MED is made of Ti-6AI-4V (a standard titanium alloy used in implant dentistry) and is shaped like a simple healing abutment, with a 1.25 mm (0.05") hex socket.

It is installed in accordance with the usual protocols for the use of healing abutments with the exception that the MED needs to be activated with an Activator (sold separately) before being installed inside the implant. Similar to simple healing abutments, the MED is also designed for single use.

Once activated the MED's battery will generate an electromagnetic field for up to 30 days on a pre-defined current and radius, affecting both the soft tissue and bone.

The MED comes in a variety of models to fit different implant brands and models. Note that each MED model only fits a specific implant model. You can check which MED model fits your implant in the MED implant compatibility table.

The MED is supplied with a single-use 1.25 mm (0.05") hex driver that is used as a carrier to seat the MED into the implant and to thread the MED into the implant using finger pressure.
