Mandrels for unmounted wheels and disks
The mandrels made of stainless steel are available with contra-angle (CA) and friction grip (FG) shanks. Single use resin mandrels are available in contra-angle.
The CA shank, 2.35 mm in diameter, fits positively in a contra-angle handpiece and is manually locked in place with the aid of a groove at the end of the shank.
The standardised diameter of the smooth FG shank is 1.6 mm; it is used in a high-speed turbine handpiece.
Note: Use FG shank only if low-speed motors with FG mounts are available.
Resin mandrels are disposable.
