The latest version of Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium introduces over 100 new features, improving and simplifying various CAD workflows.

The 6.0 software release is built on the latest exocad version, Elefsina. By using Planmeca PlanCAD Premium 6.0, users can take full advantage of the latest available exocad features while benefitting from the direct integration with Planmeca PlanMill® 60 S laboratory milling unit and Romexis® quick launch option. This integration ensures dental prostheses always fit precisely, since the milling parameters are seamlessly transferred between software and the milling unit.

Improvements in crown and bridge design

Planmeca PlanCAD Premium 6.0 software release makes the design of single-unit restorations even faster, as users can design the restorations with fewer clicks. A new tool for instant anatomic morphing and a slider to adjust abrasion are also available.

Affected areas highlighted in free forming

The free-forming tools are now more intuitive to use, as the affected parts of the anatomy are highlighted in green during free forming, ensuring more predictable results.

New highly automated pre-op workflow

If a pre-op scan is available, the software automatically generates a crown based on the previous anatomy of the patient, helping users to preserve the natural anatomical shape and function of the tooth. With this highly automated function, fewer clicks are needed for the restoration design.

New preparation margin repair tool

A completely new tool allows fixing the margins of prepared tooth to get an acceptable result based on incomplete intraoral scans with artifacts or holes in the scan.

Improved design of partial crowns

The software release introduces improvements in 3/4 crowns and overlay crown design with better initial proposals and support for complex preparation margins.

Usability enhancements

Planmeca PlanCAD Premium now offers more flexibility in handling the minimum thicknesses of different materials. Moreover, users can now switch tooth libraries while keeping their previous setup.

Easier case documentation

The software release introduces improved case documentation with new screenshot management tools for collecting, editing and tagging screenshots captured during the CAD process.

New features for implant design

Users can now design implant-based restorations based on stock abutment libraries.

Improved virtual articulator

The Virtual Articulator module now provides faster and more accurate simulations.

Improvements in Bite Splint module

The new software release provides more automation in bite splint design.

Improvements in Full Denture module

The Full Denture module now allows users to copy dentures to create a new denture instead of relining old one.

Users can also create dentures on ball attachments, allowing the design and manufacturing of snap-on dentures on implants preoperatively for immediate loading.

Improvements in Model Creator module

Planmeca PlanCAD Premium 6.0 release introduces Quick Models for the Model Creator module, enabling a highly automated model creation. Automated model creation helps save time and minimises the need for user input during the model design.

Users can choose between three different quick models according to their needs.

Improvements in Smile Creator module

The 6.0 software release also introduces a vastly improved Smile Creator, which now allows designing smiles with a virtual gingiva.
