The root elevator "leg" with a straight, flat working part and a size of 4.0 mm is used for gentle tooth extraction. Application: Before an extraction, it is recommended to separate the periosteum and the ligaments around the tooth using a root elevator. Once the tooth has been loosened, it can then be extracted using either forceps or a root lifter. This prior separation helps to ensure that the extraction is minimally invasive.
