Walser® Dental Matrices - Advantages Overview
Walser® matrices are handmade dental restoration matrices manufactured in Germany by Dr. Walser Dental GmbH since 1948. This page provides an overview of the key advantages and features of the Walser matrix system for composite and amalgam fillings.
Product Overview
All Walser® tooth matrices are handmade in the factory in Radolfzell, Germany. Only experienced staff with specialized dexterity is able to manufacture these carefully produced tooth matrices.
Key Advantages of Walser® Matrices
Perfect Contact Points and Results Achieve perfect contact points and results immediately with Walser® tooth matrices. The system is designed to create ideal proximal contacts without extensive reworking.
Ideal for Composite Fillings Walser® matrices work perfectly with composite fillings and other filling materials. They are quick and easy to apply, often without requiring wedges, making them particularly suitable for modern composite restorations.
Reusable and Sterilisable Walser® matrices are reusable and sterilisable. During their long lifetime they never lose their consistently high spring force. A dentist can work with one set for approximately 2 years until all matrices are consumed, saving money and protecting the environment.
Applicable with Rubber Dam Walser matrices can be applied above the rubber dam. The matrix adapts automatically around the tooth and fixes cotton rolls in place, eliminating the need for additional clamps in many cases.
Rare Papillary Bleeding Papillary bleeding rarely appears when inserting Walser® matrices because they slide along the tooth, unlike other systems. The matrix immediately protects the cavity floor and protects against saliva and possibly ascending blood.
Set Significantly Faster Fillings Unlike conventional matrices and sectional matrices, you can apply or remove a Walser® matrix with a single motion in seconds. One grip. Click. Fits.
Cost Saving of up to €8,000/year Time is money. The "One grip. Click. Fits" principle of the Walser matrix pays off. Compared to the use of sectional matrices, you can save over €8,000 per year in your surgery. Compared to screw systems, savings are around €4,000 per year.
Rarely Wedges Required Due to the perfect fit of Walser Matrices you rarely need wedges since the matrix adapts tightly to the entire tooth shape. The integrated wedge holder in the O-shape matrix prevents wedges from sliding away, and automatically withdraws them when the forceps are tensioned during removal.
Good Sealing Against Blood and Saliva Walser® matrices seal well against blood and saliva as the bands automatically adapt themselves to the tooth and seal the cavity floor.
Rarely Surplus, Very Good Border Seal Work with Walser® matrices and reduce surplus of filling material. Due to the various shapes available, any cavity is efficiently catered for, with low surpluses and minimal rework required.
No Screwing, No Tightening Screwing and tightening: Goodbye. Walser Matrices are self-tightening - they span themselves automatically around the tooth with perfect fit and are not uncomfortable since they are space-saving.
Always Constant Spring Force The sophisticated technology ensures that Walser matrices never lose their constant spring force during their extended working life.
Even with Small Mouth Openings As Walser Matrices have a delicate design, they are ideal for use even with small mouth openings, making them particularly suitable for pediatric dentistry.
No Problems with Tight Spaces Between Teeth The Walser matrix is used pulled tight, so the matrix strip remains stable and does not deform. Thus, the Walser matrix glides easily through the approximal contact without requiring tooth separation.
Adapt Automatically to the Tooth Shape While conventional matrices must be manually adjusted with wedges to the conical tooth shape, the Walser matrix adapts all by itself perfectly to the tooth. Using wedges is generally unnecessary.
At the Same Time Ideal Cotton Roll Holder Walser® matrices are matrices and cotton roll holder in one, because under the yoke of the matrix, the cotton roll keeps itself in place. A separate bracket is unnecessary.
Patients Can Close Mouth and Bite Despite a Walser matrix in their mouth, patients can bite and close their mouth comfortably.
Also Ideal for Children - Two Fillings Simultaneously In the treatment of two dihedral fillings with existing interdental space, the X-form brings real facility (also has a separating effect) - especially for children. Because usually due to their impatience, only one filling will be laid.
Special Matrix for One-Sided Deep Caries For one-sided deep caries, there are special matrices no. 6c and 10c. These save the trouble of extending the strips by cutting them, which is normally required in such cases. One grip. Click. Fits.
Protection of the Neighbour Tooth at the Preparation During preparation, the neighbour tooth can be protected perfectly. When applying, the Walser matrix adapts with just one hand movement automatically around the tooth, protecting the neighbour tooth with the matrix band.
Most Posterior Teeth – Special Matrix Adapts Disto-Cervically The No. 23/24 is ideal for posterior teeth and extra large molars. It adapts automatically in the disto-cervical area, comfortably placed in seconds with just one hand movement, prevents over-stuffing and saves grinding away surplus.
The No. 24 is Applicable Above the Rubber Dam Clamp, Too The Walser matrix no. 24 is applicable above the rubber dam clamp, unlike other matrix systems which have difficulties in this situation.
Solutions for Front Teeth Walser also offers appropriate matrices for the restoration of front teeth. One grip, Click. Fits. Fill. Done!
Ideal for Clinics and Students Walser matrices are ideal teaching tools in dental clinics and dental schools. They simplify the workflow and allow new students and colleagues to quickly incorporate them into their practice procedures.
